CGIAR Centers and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology of Egypt gather representatives from agriculture and innovation for a high-level discussion on scaling agri-tech solutions for agriculture in Egypt
CGIAR Centers – ICARDA, IWMI, IFPRI, and the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT supported by the Accelerate for Impact Platform (A4IP) – in collaboration with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) of Egypt, are set to host the “Consultation Workshop: Deep Diving into the Agri-tech Innovation Ecosystem in Egypt” on Wednesday, 7 February 2024 from 10:30-16:00 (GMT+2) at the InterContinental Cairo Semiramis.
As part of the CGIAR Regional Integrated Initiative ‘From Fragility to Resilience in Central and West Asia and North Africa’ (F2R-CWANA), aimed at fortifying agrifood systems against climate change impacts and fostering economic opportunities for rural communities, this workshop aims to tailor the design and focus areas of the AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge 2024. This project, centered on beneficiaries and solutions, will identify, expedite, and finance agri-tech innovations in Egypt aligned with the country’s goals outlined in the 2030 Sustainable Agricultural Development Strategy. Its objective is to deliver adaptable, deployable, and cost-effective solutions tailored to the needs of smallholder farmers, enhancing the sustainability, productivity, and resilience of their farms.
