Buguard, the Cairo-based offensive security and dark web monitoring company, has raised US$500,000 in seed funding to power its expansion into the GCC region.
Founded by Youssef Mohamed in 2021, Buguard offers offensive security services including penetration testing and vulnerability assessment, phishing simulation, compromise assessment, threat intelligence and red teaming.
Buguard, a leading cybersecurity startup in Egypt, boasts a clientele including major businesses like Paymob and Fawry, extending its reach globally. Recently securing a $500,000 seed round led by A15, its first external funding, Buguard aims to expand into the GCC region while enhancing its team. The startup introduces Dark Atlas, a cutting-edge SaaS product for dark web monitoring and account takeover prevention, highlighting the urgency of addressing cyber threats. Mohamed, Buguard’s founder, emphasizes the critical need for proactive cybersecurity measures amidst the dynamic landscape of cybercrime.
